Fire-Fighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange based of Masahito Soda’s Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M manga, follows the life of three fire fighters, Daigo, Yuki, and Shun on their dream of becoming members of the elite firefighter rescue corps “Orange.” The anime covers the personal challenges between the three as they embark on a journey to help save Japan in times of disaster.
I was drawn into the anime on the first episode and it immediately became a favorite of mine during the Fall 2024 season. However, as time went on, the new content with every episode started growing smaller and smaller as recap began being added to every episode.
It did not go unnoticed as viewers of the anime, began commenting their frustrations about the recaps.
This past week alone, many users took to Crunchyroll venting,

As it stands, each episode seems to be only getting roughly 6-10 minutes of new content while the rest is recap or flashbacks, and that’s being generous.
I myself was astonished that the latest episode, “Daigo’s Confession”, was mostly flashback and recap between Daigo’s and Shun’s relationship. It seems as if the animator’s think that the viewers have poor memory. The constant recaps are getting out of hand and I honestly feel the same as this user.

It’s as if they don’t have enough content for the amount of episodes that were allotted so they just fill the time with recap after recap.
Other than that, the story development this week hit me right in the feels as Shun finally learned Daigo’s past and I honestly believe that Shun realized just how much he loves his friend this week. It was truly special to see that he took the time to cook for him and return the favor by opening up to him. Daigo needed a friend like Shun and although I get tired of his constant crying, he really came through this episode for Daigo.
What did you think of this week’s episode? What do you think about all the recaps? Let me know in the comments.
As always, see you later Otakus!
