The Duke of Death and His Maid is a wonderfully constructed anime that revolves around the life of a teenage Duke who unfortunately is cursed and kills every living thing he touches. He was ostracized from his family and lives alone in the woods with just his butler and maid, Alice, who teases him on a constant basis.

Let me start by saying, I was not expecting this to be a good one. More like a quick, easy anime to listen to while I do chores. I suddenly found myself binging through a whole season. This anime has romance, comedy, and a whimsical mystery storyline. Of course, what would an anime be without a little fan service too.

I tell you what though, the story will introduce these two witches named Zain and Ceph who end up befriending Alice and the Duke and help them to unravel the mysteries surrounding his curse to ultimately to break it. With the introduction of these two, the story begins picking up the pace on the quest to break the curse so that the Duke can finally be able to touch Alice. Pretty peak fiction if you ask me.

However, with all that said, the animation is slightly weird and the movement of the characters seems off-base. There are also moments where the Duke breaks out in song like you’re watching a Broadway musical and it at first catches you by surprise. But, once you get used to the style of animation and the theatrics it really is a good romcom anime.

I would give this anime a 9/10 and is MAM APPROVED!! I am so looking forward to getting a third season! Will the Duke break his curse? Will we ever get to know his first name?
