The latest episode of Sugar Apple Fairy tale has fans in a excited frenzy with Challe making the moves on Anne in a touching moment. We are beginning to see Challe open up more on an emotional and personal level to Anne and I have to say, I enjoyed the moment these two shared.

** WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD**

Last episode we see Bridget and her new companion fairy, Gladus, come to the castle where the Paige workshop team is staying in order to build the sugar confections for the festival. This episode we also get the addition of Noah, the “ghost” page fairy that was playing tricks on the team because he was told to protect the castle from his old master during the last rebellion. These situations all layering on at once, have created a very interesting dynamic.

Earlier in the episode, Gladus confronts Anne about her scent, saying her scent is sublime and touching her face and hair, obviously flirting to get a rise out of Challe (we all knew Challe was watching when Gladus did what he did). If looks could kill, then Gladus would be dead right about then, because Challe’s look of anguish over Gladus caressing Anne’s face was anything but indifference as we are accustomed to see from Challe.

Later that evening, as Anne is trying her best to take care of the page fairy, who is refusing to eat due to his old master’s orders. Challe advises Anne to make a confection that Noah could not refuse to eat and then grabs her close to him and asks her about what Gladus had talked to her about earlier that day. We end up getting this moment that I honestly was not prepared for and it definitely was a sweet and spicy surprise.

Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Episode 18 Sneak Peak

We can see Challe’s desire to kiss Anne in this scene, but he holds back, deciding to gently caress her on the cheek with his lips instead, as if to wipe away any evidence of Gladus earlier and to claim Anne for his own. We see a little dialogue between the two as he warns her to stay alert and on guard about Gladus, which she agrees. Then in true Challe fashion, he whispers, “Good girl.” I thought for sure he was going to plant a kiss on Anne’s lips, because if the eyes are a gateway to the soul, then Challe is indeed in love with Anne and we could see that love, that need to protect, that chemistry just by his eyes as he gazed lovingly at Anne.

I would also like to point out that during this moment, Anne didn’t try to get away as quickly as possible like she did when Gladus caressed her. She stood frozen and red as a beet, but you could tell it was cause she is not used to this side of Challe. I think it shocked her quite a bit, not to mention, she was blushing (so one would assume that she was enjoying herself, I know I would be). Afterwards, we get to see Anne smiling, dazed from exhaustion as she says she was happy about the earlier exchange. I am excited to see how their relationship progresses next episode. Will we be getting that dreaded love triangle? Will the two admit their feelings (like come on already)? Time will tell.
