I have been binging Anime on many platforms as of late, and I have recently found a few recommendations on Netflix that I believe are a must see on your watchlist!

Without further a-do….Let’s get into it!!!

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead

Zom 100: Bucket Lists of the Dead has got to be this season’s best anime thus far. I was engrossed and binged all episodes available in one sitting.

This anime centers around 24-year-old Akira Tendou, who was watching a zombie movie with lifeless eyes, after spending three hard years at an exploitative corporation in Japan. With his spirit broken, he didn’t even have the energy to express his own feelings or even quit. Then one morning, a zombie apocalypse struck Japan, and Akira quickly realizes the world he knows is over, but even though Akira is running for his life, he has never felt more alive and creates a bucket list of all the things he wants to do before becoming a zombie. Will he complete the list before he is zombie food or better yet turned into one?

Violet Evergarden

Violet Evergarden is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, but is one anime that I will always recommend! The story is beautiful, the plot emotional, the animation style is top tier, and will leave you needing tissues with almost every episode.

This Anime follows the story of you guessed it, Violet Evergarden, a young girl raised for the sole purpose of decimating enemy lines. Hospitalized and maimed in a bloody skirmish from the War, she was left with only words from the person she held dearest, Major Bougainvillea, but with no understanding of their meaning.

Recovering from her wounds, Violet starts a new life working at CH Postal Services as an “Auto Memory Doll,” amanuenses that transcribe people’s thoughts and feelings into words on paper. Moved by the notion. A trade that will take her on an adventure, one that will reshape the lives of her clients and hopefully lead to self-discovery of the meaning of “I love you.”

*Be sure to watch the movie and specials as well*

My Happy Marriage

My Happy Marriage is also another top tier anime this season, with an emotional backstory for the main lead, romance, and bits of fantasy thrown in. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a good romance anime.

The anime follows the story of Miyo Saimori who is the unfortunate child of a loveless, arranged marriage. After years of being treated like dirt, Miyo has learned to shut down emotionally and obey every order. So, it comes as no surprise that she is arranged to be married to Kiyoka Kudou, a military captain rumored to be so cruel that he has driven away every one of his potential wives so far. From a traumatizing upbringing to a painful marriage, that’s the future that awaits Miyo—or so she thinks. However, she soon realizes that her new husband is actually kind. What really awaits Miyo is a blissful, everlasting marriage full of happiness.
